It maps the dependencies between your systems, shows the impact of every change before the work begins, measures each degradation against defined recovery objectives, and produces the continuity documentation from live data rather than from last year’s binder.

- Enterprise architecture mapping
- Records for systems, servers, interfaces and facilities, each with its owner, contacts, recovery tier, lifecycle dates, business functions and data types. Any system can be placed at the centre of the map to show what it depends on, what depends on it, and the work currently touching it, with the direction of data flow on every link.
- Change and impact logs
- Every Jira issue that references a system shows its downstream impact, its collisions with other open work, and any conflict with a change-freeze window before the work begins. When an issue that delivers or retires a system is completed, the record is updated and the change is written to the log.
- Degradation management
- Degradations are recorded with stages, timestamped updates, incident tickets, root cause and mitigation, and are measured against the recovery objectives of the system’s tier. Notices for the affected audiences are prepared from a template, sending is limited to designated groups, and every notice is recorded.
- Business continuity management
- Recovery tiers define the recovery time objective, recovery point objective, maximum tolerable downtime and review interval once, and every record inherits them. The contact and escalation sheet, recovery sequence, cyber incident sheet and full continuity package are generated from the records each time they are opened, with the currency of the data stated on the cover.

- A single page of drillable snapshots, each opening the section behind it, with items that need attention clearly marked.
- Reports that filter and export
- Reports on degradations, systems, data gaps and the change log, each filterable and exportable for reviews and audits.
- Settings for administrators
- Recovery tiers, reference lists, change-freeze windows, audiences, sender groups and the notice template are maintained under Jira administration and are available to Jira administrators only.
- Permissions from Jira
- Access follows Jira groups, and every restriction is enforced on the server rather than in the browser.

EA Sphere is an Atlassian Forge app designed to Atlassian’s Runs on Atlassian requirements. Your records are held in Atlassian-hosted storage, and the app makes no calls to external services.
